Skin Soothing Whipped Body Butter

I found my new go-to skin treatment recipe. So simple. So luxurious. I’m glad I made a large first batch, or I don’t know if all of this body butter would have ended up as gifts.

Super basic premise. Equal parts cocoa butter and coconut oil. Then go crazy with oil and scent combinations. Whip It Up! Done.

Skeptical? Don’t be. Trust in the simple things, friends. Here is a quick breakdown of the steps.

Step 1: Use a double boiler (aka- a glass Pyrex bowl set on top of a pot of boiling water) to melt cocoa butter and coconut oil. Stir to combine.

Step 2: Transfer hot oil 2 refrigerator, leaving it in the glass bowl, or transferring it to the Bowl part of a KitchenAid mixer. Leaves to chill for about 45 minutes or an hour comma until the oil starts to set but isn’t rock hard.

Step 3: Remove from refrigerator and add in essential oil of your choice. Using lavender as a soothing oil, or frankincense as something earthy and grounding or peppermint and orange for an invigorating body butter, whatever your fancy.

Step 4: whip it good! But seriously, blend with the whipping attachment in the stand up mixer for about 5 minutes and with a handheld mixer for at least that long. You’ll know it’s done when it looks like whipped cream or shaving cream or something bright white and puffy that looks amazing and like you want to slather it all over your body.

Step 5: bear paw a scoop of that out of the bowl and rub it all over you as the guinea pig for your beautiful creation. Then-Spoon into mason jars or any container that you would like. Possibly share.
