I’ve been writing Yoga, Nutrition, and Meditation Plans for anyone to implement from wherever they are at. Writing the Nutrition Section of these plans really lays out some of the truths about health that I’ve been unearthing throughout my own journey into wellness. It is personal and honest. These comprehensive Yoga, Nutrition, and Meditation Plans can be focused on our current goal- Relaxation, Energy, or Prenatal. Plans are available to purchase on this website, yogacentricllc.com. I wanted to share one section with you today.

Book 1, Sutra 4 of Patanjalis Yoga Sutra’s states, “Vrtti sarupoyam itaratra” translated to mean “the Self appears to assume the forms of the mental modifications”. We are who we believe we are. If we have told ourselves, “I am weak”, or “I am sickly”, or “I am ugly”, or “I am damaged”, or all the other ways we say, “I AM NOT ENOUGH” then, unfortunately, we have created that form to fit us. We are enough, we have always been enough, but once we have convinced ourselves otherwise, we live up to that role.
We feed ourselves as if we are the lowest priority: we eat standing up, driving, or running out the door; we eat the scraps of our kid’s or our partner’s plates; we cook whatever food is marketed to be the quickest. But we know that this isn’t healthy or sustainable.
We are worthy of bringing life and energy into our body. We are worthy of being able to perform at our highest level. We are worthy of feeding our soul.
So what does that look like?
It looks like choosing the foods that support the body as a whole. It looks like turning down the processed treats at the party not because you are scared about how they will affect how tight your jeans are, but because you understand those treats will not benefit your energy, your satiation, your overall satisfaction in any way. It looks like stocking the kitchen with whole foods that that feel good in your hands and look good to your eyes. It looks like moving the body not because we are punishing ourselves for what we ate the day before, but because we are celebrating what it can do today.
Once we believe that we deserve to feel energized and balanced, truly believe that we are worthy of being strong and flexible (in both body and mind), then the choices of how to fuel our body become clearer, easier. We no longer wish to deprive ourselves, but also no longer view our indulgences as something that will make us feel better, or comforted.
Every meal is a chance to give a gift to ourselves. A gift of energy. A gift of lightness. A gift of function. A gift of immunity.
You deserve these gifts.
