Nipping Out- Simple, organic, homemade, 3 ingredient Nipple Butter recipe

It’s spring and tis the season for babies!

In fact, MY baby (not quite a baby at nearly two and a half) caught a baby rabbit in our garden today.

It was then relocated OUTSIDE of said garden to discourage it from eating anymore of my cilantro.

And to continue with this baby motif…

I have so many pregnant friends right now!!! 😍

I love witnessing this change in a woman, whether it be baby number one or baby number nine, and seeing close friends undertake this journey is so special to observe!

Now my tribe of determined, authentic, compassionate women will take this gift of motherhood and continue to perpetuate this cycle of light and love that we call life.

I. Am. So. Excited.

So for a small gesture of support, since I am sadly apart from almost all of these burgeoning bellies, I whipped up a mega-batch of this good-for-baby-better-for-mom nipple butter. Organic, natural, edible, safe and made from completely whole ingredients.

Speaking of ingredients, the only things needed for this soothing mama balm are some of the staples in my DIY stash. I love beeswax in lip balm, cocoa butter in whipped body lotion, and coconut oil as a healthy alternative for butter and vegetable oil in baking and cooking.

This nipple butter “recipe”is more like a guideline for ratios.

  • One part BEESWAX
  • Two parts COCOA BUTTER
  • Three parts COCONUT OIL

To combine, add all ingredients into a mason jar, set the jar in a pot of boiling water and heat until melted. Then pour into clean containers to cool and solidify.

*Heating in a double boiler is an obvious alternative to the mason jar, it just incomes more cleanup. I keep one large jar set aside that I melt all of my non-edible oils in to avoid gunking up my cooking gear.

Let cool completely to view the actual consistency of this nipple butter.

Done! Now you can share with all the mamas in your beautiful tribe!

Do you think a mama rabbit would enjoy nipple butter?

  1. I love this! Isaac found the nipple butter jar and he dug into it just like Branch did when he was about a year and a half. Nipple butter turns into “sensory butter” after a year! 😘
